About Osteria Kayla

Located in Historic Downtown Fremont, Osteria Kayla's soulful cuisine is served with the same comfortable and convivial spirit found in a northern Italian Osteria. "Osteria" in Italian translates to a place where the owner finds inspiration in "hosting" the guests.


Osteria Kayla, named after Chef Miquel Moreno’s daughter, resides in the landmark Kollmeyer’s Passageway. The spacious restaurant features exposed brick, grand 17’ ceilings, warm lighting and an expansive oak bar.


Chef Miquel most recently was owner/chef of Fremont’s beloved Pepper Grinder. Prior to that he worked his way up to hold the position of head chef at Denver’s Osteria Marco and Salt & Grinder for ten years. Unique to Osteria Kayla is Chef Miquel’s handcrafted burrata, mozzarella and ricotta that are featured throughout the menu.
